Mission India Foundation is a not for profit organization with an aim to further the cause of socio-political activism in India.

Executive Team:

 


 Kumar Mukesh is the Director of MIF (India). He looks after the operations of MIF in India.

A multi-faceted personality, Kumar holds masters in Mass Communications and a PG Diploma in TV Journalism. Hisar (Haryana) -based, he is a banker by profession.

He is a social activist and and has worked at grass root level with organizations like SAMBHAV ( Social Action for Mobilization & Betterment of Humans through Audio-Visuals)and JAN SAMVAD (which has conducted monthly seminars on political issues).

He is also a free- lance journalist, writer and documentary film maker.He has been associated with a renowned monthly magazine 'Itihas Bodh' as a managing editor. Published works include several features, articles and short stories in leading Hindi magazines and news papers. He has just finished the Hindi translation of a novel 'The Pledge' by Howard Fast which is in press.

Kumar has also delved into trade union movements and is an organizing secretary of state unit of Haryana Gramin Bank Officers Association( affiliated with All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association).

2. Akbar Khan Rana: 

 Akbar is the Vice-President (Operations) of MIF, Inc USA. He is a Haryana (India) based freelancer. He is very vocal on issues related to national security and integration. His email ID: ak@mifindia.org

3. Mathew George,MD:

  

 Vice -President (Legal Affairs) of MIF, Inc. USA. Originally from Kerala, Mathew is currently a Pediatrician in New York. He has also a trained Medical Toxicologist from  Harvard. His goals  are establishing a nationalized poison control system in India ,and  also  promoting  environmental health.He can be reached at drmg456@gmail.com

4. Bhajan Ratra:

Advisory Board:

1. Sameul John: 

 John, 39 is a renowned theater activist of Punjab (India). He holds masters in Drama and Theater from Punjabi University, Patiala. John has made theater as an instrument of social change.

He has created a master piece of cultural, social, and political change in a small village of North India. His Peoples' Theater in Lehra Ghaga (Punjab) is a nursery for young social, cultural, and political activists. 

2. Rahul Roy:

Rahul Roy is an internationally acclaimed documentary film maker of India.Over the years, films like Dharmayuddha, Nasoor, Invisible Hands Unheard Voices, Khel, When Four Friends Meet, The Performance, city beautiful have focused on various social issues and have been screened in different film festivals in different countries.He is closely associated with 'Vikalp - films for freedom' and runs a film making social project 'Aakaar'

3. S P Singh

Surinder, 47, based at Hisar, bachelor in Agriculture Science and Post Graduate in Sociology with multiple professional qualifications is a bank officer and is currently posted in Punjab.He is a person of strong social orientation right from his university days when he actively participated in students’ movement with close association with contemporary youth, workers’, farmers’ and women movements.

Right now, he is indirectly involved in projects for education to out-of-school children, improvement in quality of life of female volunteers associated with education for under-privileged children.

4. Utpala Shukal:

 

 Utpala, 33, is a renowned socio-political and cultural activist. She has a wide range experience of working on gender issues, capacity building and advocacy. Utpala has been working with different organizations for over a decade. she is a member of the editorial board of Itihasbodh and actively associated with the projects of composite cultural exchange among South Asian nations.

5. Versha Vahini:

 Versha , 33, is an Assistant Research Professor at Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. She did her  LL.M. from NLSIU, Bangalore.  Though her area of specialization is Corporate Law, yet she has a keen interest in Constitutional Law and Indian Polity. She teaches human rights too.
