1. Upcoming Workshop for Volunteers:

Mission India Foundation is conducting a 5 days workshop in association with Institute for Social Democracy (N. Delhi) in the month of August, 2008 at Morni-Hills (Panchkula). Though the main objective of the workshop is to enlighten the participents about the Composite Heritage , this will help the members and activists of MIF to discuss strategy, projects and also identify and consolidate ideological aims and objectives. Please revisit the site regularly for more details.
2. French Scholar Visits VEC at Titram:
Ms Ginette Beurton, an activist of France, who works with Bibliotheque Universitaire Des Langues et Civilisations  visited  VEC  (Village Empowerment Center) at village Titram in Haryana during the first week of July 2008. Ms Beurton who likes visiting other cultures was cheerfully greeted in Titram. As a guest and being aware of the complexity of Indian civilization, she refrained from expressing any judgement on the needs of Indian society, but she hailed the work being done by Mission India Foundation at the grass-root level because it tends to improve the life and the education level of the village. She hopes that MIF will succeed in taking up issues which are relevant to the progress of Indian society in modern times.
3. Inauguration of VEC at Titram:
 July 6, 2008:  Super Cop and renowned activist and writer -Mr V N Rai- inaugurated the Village Empowerment Center (VEC) at Titram in Haryana.
Mr. V.N. Rai is Additional Director-General of Police (Haryana). He is not only a senior IPS officer of the state but is also known for his social and literary credentials. In his speech he  called upon the people to get rid of out -dated customs, like women having veils on their faces, early or child marriages and caste-ridden  practices. He stressed upon the importance of rural libraries and actually said that a  library movement is needed for creating a modern and progressive society.
4. Training of Marshal arts for girls:
 July 6, 2008: On the inauguration of VEC at Titram , an opportunity was availed to provide demonstration of Marshal Arts for girls to  teach to defend themselves  by lady trainers of Haryana Police Academy , Madhuban (Haryana). The demo was liked by them.
